چکیده

Nanomaterial-based catalytic conversion of hazardous organic pollutants into benign substances is one the green methods employed for wastewater treatment. This study demonstrates fabrication (rGO-ZnO)/CuO nanocomposites (NCs) via a microwave (MW)-assisted method (photo)catalytic application. The crystal structure, optical, morphological, and electrochemical characteristics were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD), spectroscopic, microscopic, techniques. analysis indicated that rod-like NCs having nanoscale diameter with enhanced light absorption well-matched band positions between rGO-ZnO CuO formed. Furthermore, reduction 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) photocatalytic degradation methylene blue (MB) tests showed remarkable results rate constants 0.468 min?1 4-NP within 8 min 0.02213 MB 105 min. Thus, artful decoration ZnO nanorods (NRs) interface an effective strategy fabricating highly efficient photocatalysts.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Pollutants in Water

A photocatalyst is defined as a substance which is activated by adsorbing a photon and is capable of accelerating a reaction without being consumed [1]. These substances are invaria‐ bly semiconductors. Semiconducting oxide photocatalysts have been increasingly focused in recent years due to their potential applications in solar energy conversion and environmen‐ tal purification. Semiconductor ...
